How do players join?
In Tap Quiz they scan the QR code on the TV or open shouttrack.app/play on their phone and type a name. Classic and Turbo need no phones at all.
Do I need an Apple Music subscription?
No. The music comes from Apple Music and plays for everyone. A subscription is only needed to import your own playlists.
Which Apple TV do I need?
Apple TV HD or any Apple TV 4K with tvOS 17 or later.
What about the sound?
Any speaker that plays music well plays a quiz well: your TV, a soundbar, Sonos or a surround receiver over HDMI. At the office, a soundbar or a wired speaker beats Bluetooth. Keep the sound on HDMI or a cable for Tap Quiz, since AirPlay adds about two seconds. Read the sound guide
How many can play?
Classic Quiz takes 1 to 8 players or teams. Tap Quiz takes 20 phones with Premium, or 100 with an Event Pass.
Does it use voice recognition?
No. In Classic Quiz the room shouts and the host decides who was first. In Tap Quiz the phones keep the score.
What is the Event Pass?
A one-time purchase for one big night. Have Premium? It adds room for up to 100 phones for 48 hours. No Premium? It gives you everything in Premium plus room for 100 phones for 48 hours. It also puts your logo, event name and colours on the TV and every phone, and lets guests play in teams.
